Every 2 years, at the Canadian Waste Resource Symposium, an individual from each of the Canadian Chapters of SWANA is recognized by their membership for the amazing work they do to help build their chapter. In April of 2022, the symposium took place in Banff, Alberta. At this event, Darlyne Proctor was named the recipient of the Chapter Builder Award for the Atlantic Canada Chapter of SWANA. Unfortunately, Darlyne was unable to attend the event in person to receive her award, so we would like to recognize her today by sharing the information from the nomination for the award as submitted by her peers.
Darlyne began her career in the Waste Management industry in 1991. In 1999, she started working for the Municipality of Colchester as the Waste Reduction Manager. Currently, Darlyne is the President of the Atlantic Canada Chapter of SWANA and is a Director within the Executive for Waste Resource Association of Nova Scotia. She has been a leader in the Atlantic Canada Chapter for many years and a driving force behind many successful committees and events. She has led and worked on several successful Canadian Waste Symposiums and introduced new education and engagement opportunities for chapter members when traditional gathering was upended because of the pandemic. Darlyne always strives to make sure the Atlantic Canada Chapter is heard. She encourages and supports all its members and officers. Darlyne is a kind, positive, dedicated, and hardworking person committed to furthering SWANA in Atlantic Canada and providing members with a valuable and engaging experience. On behalf of the Atlantic Canada Chapter of SWANA, please join me in congratulating Darlyne on her much deserving Chapter Builder Award.
